Poetry Performance

The children have been learning about the features of poems and chose a poem to perform as a group.
The children decided how they wanted to perform their poem. Some children decided to act it out, others chose to recite it using actions and sound effects. This group worked really hard and performed their poem in the form of a song. They chose their own melody and added extra lines to create an echo.

This is the poem they are performing:

The Cat of cats

I am the cat of cats, I am.
The everlasting cat!
Cunning and old and sleek as jam.

The everlasting cat!
I hunt the vermin in the night
The everlasting cat!
For i see best without the light

The everlasting cat!
